What is County Surplus Property?
The Procurement Department disposes of surplus County property that is no longer required for County purposes. If the property is not identified for use by any County agency/department, the property is made available for sale, donation or other appropriate and responsible means of disposal. This is done in accordance with California Government Code §25504 and County of Santa Clara Ordinance §A 34-90, "Disposal of Personal Property No Longer Needed."
Examples of County Surplus Property include:
- Office equipment
- Binders and desk organizers

Surplus property that is no longer utilized by the County may be made available for sales through contracted auction vendor.
